Discover the story behind Seattle's premier audio production facility.

Our Story

The Genesis of Aurora Sound Studios

Aurora Sound Studios was founded in 2010 by Ethan Miller, a passionate audio engineer with a vision to create a world-class recording facility in the heart of Seattle's vibrant music scene. Ethan, a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, recognized the need for a studio that not only offered state-of-the-art equipment but also fostered a collaborative and creative environment for artists. Starting with a small, acoustically treated room in the Ballard neighborhood, Aurora Sound Studios quickly gained a reputation for its exceptional sound quality and personalized service.

In the early years, Aurora Sound Studios focused primarily on recording local indie bands and singer-songwriters. Ethan's dedication to capturing the unique essence of each artist's music, combined with his meticulous attention to detail, resulted in a string of successful projects that garnered critical acclaim. As the studio's reputation grew, so did its clientele, attracting musicians from across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

Expansion and Growth

In 2018, Aurora Sound Studios underwent a significant expansion, relocating to a larger, purpose-built facility in the Fremont neighborhood. The new studio boasts three spacious recording rooms, a dedicated mixing suite, a mastering room, and a comfortable lounge area for artists to relax and collaborate. The expansion also allowed Aurora Sound Studios to invest in cutting-edge equipment, including a vintage Neve console, a selection of high-end microphones, and a comprehensive collection of analog and digital processing tools.

With its expanded facilities and enhanced capabilities, Aurora Sound Studios broadened its service offerings to include post-production for film and television, voiceover recording, and audio restoration. The studio quickly became a sought-after destination for filmmakers, podcasters, and advertising agencies seeking top-quality audio services. Today, Aurora Sound Studios is recognized as one of the leading audio production facilities in Seattle, known for its commitment to excellence, its talented team, and its unwavering dedication to helping artists realize their sonic vision.
